Phonetic Word Prediction

With other word prediction programs, if you can't spell a word correctly, the word prediction won't make any suggestions. Back in 1995, Aurora introduced our first phonetic word prediction algorithm which attempts to guess what you are typing even if you are spelling the word incorrectly. This is a real advantage for phonetic spellers since they have the option to work interactively with the word prediction software to work out the correct spellings for words as they work.

Aurora Prediction

This example shows the user getting help typing the word "receive." Aurora displays phonetically similar words in blue and identically spelled words in black. Since there are over 100,000 words in some of our vocabularies, the color cue lets the user know at a glance whether or not they are spelling their word correctly.

While a couple of other products are finally following our lead and have announced their own phonetic word prediction systems are coming, Aurora 3.0 contains our second generation phonetic word prediction, and we are hard at work on a number of new advances.
