This is an example of word completion and word prediction, commonly referred to just as word prediction. When the user types the first letter of "how," it is suggested in the prediction window. "How" is then selected by pressing 6, this is word completion. It then predicts the next words "are" "you" and "doing" which are all selected by pressing the number next to the words.
Word prediction helps slow typists by completing words for them so they don't have to type as much. If typing is very tiring for you, it will allow you to type longer before tiring. Word prediction used this way can typically double the typing speed or the amount of time before you tire, although Aurora can often do much better than this.
Word prediction helps people who have trouble spelling by cueing them with correctly spelled words so
that they can work interactively with the word prediction to spell correctly. With 100,000+ words in the
prediction vocabulary, you can be pretty well assured that the word you are trying to spell will be in there.
Once you see the word you want, you can have the word completed for you instantly, saving extra keystrokes.
