Network Installation Overview

Additional network installation information can be found in the installation guide and on our world wide web site http://www.aurora-systems.com/

This product is designed to allow installation of a portion of the product onto a shared server directory where it will be referred to by the portion of the installation on networked client computers.

Network Installation

Note: Server installation must be completed before any client installations are attempted.

1) Server Installation: Run INSTALL from a client workstation that has full write access to a shared network drive accessible from all client workstations. Choose Custom Installation. Click on the Network Server radio button. Click on the Network Path button and enter the path to the shared network drive. Complete installation. If you need further assistance, see the installation guide.

2) Client Installation: Run INSTALL from a client workstation having Directory, Read, and Execute access to a shared network drive. Additional permissions may be required depending on your network operating system. Choose Custom Installation. Click on the Network Workstation radio button. Click on the Network Path button and enter the path to the shared network drive. Complete installation. If you need further assistance, see the installation guide.

Cloning Network Workstation Installations

A single workstation's installation may be cloned to other workstations without running install by copying all the contents of the workstation's \AWIN3 directory and adding the following to each cloned workstation's WIN.INI file in the workstation's \WINDOWS directory.

[Aurora]

INIFileV3=C:\AWIN3\AURORA.INI

Cloning a workstation will not install the Windows Access Pack. This feature must be installed at each workstation. Also, if you are using SSIL speech synthesizer drivers, these must also be installed on each individual workstation.

Standalone Workstation Installation

1) Run INSTALL from a workstation that does not wish to use a shared network drive. Choose Custom Installation. Click on the Standalone Workstation radio button. You do not need to click on the Network Path button to enter a path to a shared network drive. Complete installation. If you need assistance, see the installation guide.
