Making the Setup Dialog open faster

Making the SSIL Voice Setup Dialog Open Faster

You Use Just One Driver

Aurora for Windows searches the entire directory structure below the SSIL Directory specified in the Voice Setup dialog for SSIL drivers when the Voice Setup dialog is opened. If you only plan to use one driver, the setup dialog will open much more quickly if you set SSIL Directory to the directory that contains the driver you are using. See Drivers in this Release for a list of all of the drivers in this release and the directories they are contained in.

Note: Most drivers require that they be installed in the C:\WINDOWS directory, in which case, this option will not be possible.

You Use Multiple Drivers

Aurora for Windows searches the entire directory structure below the SSIL Directory specified in the Voice Setup dialog for SSIL drivers when the Voice Setup dialog is opened. If you are using two or more SSIL drivers, rather than doing the above, it is easiest to delete any unused SSIL drivers. Please note that you can always get the SSIL drivers back using your original installation diskettes and the Custom Installation option of the Install program.
