This dialog allows you to switch from the 32-bit to the 16-bit voice server on Windows 95, 98 and NT 4.0. You may want to switch if you wish to use a speech synthesizer driver that is only supported by the 16-bit voice server.
Drivers only supported by the 16-bit server include: Monologue for Windows 3.1, TextAssist DecTalk.
If you run the 16-bit software under Windows 95, 98 or NT 4.0, you may also switch from the 16-bit voice server to the 32-bit voice server to take advantage of synthesizers that are only available with the 32-bit voice server.
Drivers only supported by the 32-bit server include: Microsoft Speech API synthesizers which include Dec Access 32, Monologue for Windows 95 and the Microsoft Speech Synthesizer.
To switch back, choose a synthesizer that is not supported by the voice server you are running and click on Voice Setup then click on Switch.
If you are running Windows 3.1, you cannot switch to the 32-bit server, sorry.
