Aurora 2.x for Windows Dictionaries
Aurora for Windows 3.0 will load Aurora 2.x for Windows dictionaries, however when it does so, it converts them to version 3.0 format. They will no longer be accessible from previous versions of Aurora for Windows. We recommend making a backup copy of the .DCT file before you open it if you plan to use the older version of Aurora in the future.
Aurora for DOS and Aurora 1.0 for Windows Dictionaries
Aurora 3.0 for Windows will not load Aurora for DOS, or Aurora for Windows 1.0x dictionary files. We had to sacrifice absolute backwards compatibility in order to take best advantage of many of the advanced new features when we introduced Aurora for Windows 2.0. To make sure your investment in Aurora 1.0 for Windows and Aurora for DOS isn't wasted, words and macros that have been added to these dictionaries may be imported into any Aurora 3.0 for Windows dictionary. This is done using the included Import program which may be found in your Aurora 3.0 for Windows group in Program Manager, or under Start|Program Files in Windows 95, 98 and NT 4.0. Run Import and click on its help button for instructions on its use.
